Hymns

I love the LDS Hymn Book. I like to read the words to the songs without any music and just soak up the words. Last week during Sacrament Meeting I took hymn #172 "In, Humility, Our Savior" and read it and changed all the words (just in my head) like we and our to I and my. This is the result, it makes the song so much more personal and I really love it.

In humility, my Savior, grant they Spirit here, I pray.
As they bless the bread and water in thy name this holy day.
Let me not forget O Savior, Thou didst bleed and die for me
When thy heart was stilled and broken on the cross at Calvary.

Fill my heart with sweet forgiving; teach me tolerance and love.
Let my prayers find access to thee in they holy courts above.
Then, when I have proven worthy of the sacrifice divine,
Lord, let me regain thy presence; let thy glory round me shine.

The second verse if my favorite, a simple plea to be guided by the Lord to live with Him again. Just imagine what this world would be like if all the people in this world could sincerely sing the last verse of this song. I love the Gospel.
