Ready, Set, Go!

I have done a lot of blogging this week, sorry, this one will be short, I promise. My life is planned, yay me. I have spent about 6 hours this weekend planning out my school schedule for the next year. I have all my classes planned out and I will be all done with school after the summer 2010 semester. That is in just over a year. I feel really great about it. I have seven credits this summer, fourteen credits in the fall, fourteen point five credits in the winter, seven in spring of 2010 and then I'll end by do my internship during the summer semester. I am so happy that it's all organized now, it makes life so much more easy. I will continue to work at RC Willey 30-35 hours a week which will make my schedule quite full, but I work much better under a highly structured schedule. School, work, study, sleep. That will be my life for the next year. Lucky me though, my schedule is beautiful for fall. Monday's I have class all day, Tuesday and Thursdays just one class with my favorite religion teacher, Wednesdays I have two classes and a lab, and friday...drum roll please...NO CLASSES!!! I'm pretty excited about it, I feel very confident about this schedule.
Also, I am officially debt free, short term student loan paid, mom paid, rent paid (that one wasn't really a debt), tithing (also not a debt, just a a regular "payment"), and I still have money left over from the pay check!! Hooray!! Oh, and I bought my new camera, so as soon as something exciting happens, you will have pictures!!

Meet Emilee Maine

Just about everyday I ride the bus I think to myself that I should start a blog and dedicate it solely to the weird things that happen on the UTA buses. Today, I got on the bus riding home from RC Willey, so I was all dressed up in slacks, ya know. So I sit down and there is this black guy with a black beanie, and a black bushy beard, (almost bummish, but not quite) looks at me, and blatantly moves across the bus so he can sit by me. He instantly asks me about my pearls and where I got them. I gave him an honest answer and said, "Oh, I got them at Target for six dollars". Even if they were real, I wouldn't tell him for fear he would rip them away from my neck. He went on to talk about how he can make pearl jewelery. Cool, gold star for you, too bad there are no pearls laying around in this part of the world. He then shook my hand and asked for my name. He shook left handed though which is always awkward. So I put up my left hand and shook his, annnnnnnndddd...he wouldn't let go, I had to pull my hand out, literally. He then said that I shook with the wrong hand. Duh, you did it first, what was I supposed to do? So after his pestering I finally just shook his left with my right, weird. Again, he held onto my hand. Really? Who does that? Creeps. That's who. I tried to avoid the part of him asking my name, but he wouldn't drop it, but there was no way I was telling him my real name. Not a chance, I already made that mistake with other people. And I couldn't tell him Frizz, because that wouldn't sound legit. So, I am pleased to introduce Emilee Maine. I told him my name was Emilee and that I was 21. Emilee is from St. George, Utah and is studying at BYU. My sister has a fake name and story for when she is out of the country so I decided to adopt this habit. I will shortly be purchasing a ring from walmart or target, whichever I get to first. I never wanted to stoop to the level of wearing a fake wedding ring, but I just feel so scared having all these weird guys hitting on me while I ride the bus. It was flattering the first time, but it is getting out of hand and I really don't like it. Anyways, that's Emilee. Now for the rest of the story, because it gets worse. The 3rd question he asks is, and I quote, "Have you ever been in love?" WHAT!?!?!?!?!!! Really? I don't even talk about that with most people that I'm close to!! I told him no and he just talked about love for a minute. Most of what he said the entire bus ride I didn't hear, and I couldn't read his lips because of his big beard, so the old "smile and nod technique" was whipped out. After he was done talking about love, he asked what tribe I was from. At this point, I just didn't care enough to be nice. I had been nice to stupid people for 8 hours, (we had some crazies at work today) and I just didn't want to deal with it. I asked him what he meant by tribe, thinking there's no waaaaaay he would be talking about the tribes of Israel. He looked at me like I was a lost soul and said, "oh, have you never had a patriarchal blessing?" So I told him I had and he said, well, what's your tribe? I looked at him and said, "That really isn't for you to know." He asked a few more times and I just shot it down. Not that it is a super personal thing, but there is no reason on the face of the planet that he should ask questions like that after 5 minutes. It was ridiculous. I got off at the next stop and ran into the mall to shop it off. I found some way cute stuff at Head Over Heels, a fabulous new store, and Charlotte Russe. I didn't buy any of it, go me, practicing self control. For anybody who knows me even kinda of, knows that if I see something cute at charlotte russe that fits, I get it, I can't help it. But tonight, I didn't and there were three, all on sale. :D Anyways, moral of the story, I am sick of creeps on the bus and will forever more make sure I have a fake ring and an ear bud in each ear, hopefully that will send the message that I don't want to be hit on, but they have all been pretty daft up to this point, so maybe they won't get it, who knows?

Bliss That I Call A Day Off

Today I had a day off from both of my jobs for the first time since April 25th, and that was for katie's wedding. Needless to say, I was so excited for today. I love that I can work so much now and I still just love my jobs more and more everyday, but I asked my boss at Papa Murphey's if he would be willing to schedule me there on days that I just do a short shift at RC Willey, rather than scheduling me for seven hours there on my one day off a week from RC Willey. That way I can accomplish other stuff on occasion and not have to do a bus commute into Orem 6 days of the week. He obliged for which I am grateful. I used this day to do what I wanted to do. I stayed up late and slept in some this morning. I ate a hearty breakfast of honey nut cheerios and organic vanilla soymilk, I then worked on some crafts, I love crafting. Then, I did what I had really wanted to do today. I went outside. It was a beautiful day and there was no way that I was about to stay cooped up inside on my day off. I went for a bike ride that I'm guessing was about 10 miles round-trip. I rode from my place to the Riverwoods, past that to a little park, not quite to the mouth of the the canyon, and then back. It felt GREAT!!! I laid down at the park for a few minutes to refuel, and to bask in the sunshine, (that was the main reason) so I just laid there for about twenty minutes and enjoyed the beautiful river surroundings. I stopped at the bookstore on my way home to pick up some stuff. A book for a friend, a planner, and a I found a new book called Daughters of God that I had to get. I vegged on the couch for a bit after that, played uno with bus boy (which I still don't know what to think of), then Monica, Elise and I hit up our weekly institute class. And after class, we played ping pong, I've waited so long to play in an institute building. :D That's all, now I'm just getting ready for bed and tomorrow, I get back to work with a ten hour day. I'm so happy to have day off but I'd rather have two great jobs, this is just an added bonus, love it! Also, I'm getting a new camera this week since my other one broke, which means, I can post pictures again soon!

Epic Battle #3: Bus Boy

I am now the proud owner of a UTA bus pass. Some view it as oober lame...I'm trying to view it as going green, with the environment and my bank account. So I spend about a minimum of an hour on the bus a day between jobs. Most the time I have my earbuds in (even though only one works) and if I feel like talking to people then I'll take them out and make conversation. Today was one of those days. There were a few people in the back and I was in the front because it takes more coordination than I've got to walk to the back, on a moving bus, in 4 inch stilettos. We picked up a 40 year old door to door salesman and a dressed up cell phone sales man about age 23 at the wilk. We then proceeded and picked up another guy, about 23 as well. We all started talking and they asked me what I was all dressed up for. (Because I was in pinstripes and a nice blouse). I told them I was just riding into work. When they asked where I worked I told them, thinking nothing of it because it would be obvious when I got off at that stop. So we kept talking and then I was the first one to get off. I went into work and got on with my day not thinking about them because I've yet to see the same person twice on that bus. Well...at about 1:00, James came over and said I had a call on 502. Weird. Nobody calls me at work. So I picked it up and the voice said "hey Frizz, this is sam, we met on the bus this morning. I was wondering if you wanted to go bowling tonight?" WHAT!!!??!?! Who does that?? I told him no because I worked til 4:30 and then I was heading home for Trav's recital. Both Legit excuses. I found it to be slightly flattering, but mostly just stalker-ish and a bit creepy to call my work and ask for me after only talking for 5 minutes. Less than that actually because I didn't talk much. He left his number with me to call or text him. Now I just have to decide what to do. Any thoughts are more than welcome.

Blake Lewis

I feel the need to blog.  Checko hasn't sent me the pictures from Boondocks yet, so you get this.  I have a secret, (but really not so secret) love for Blake Lewis from American Season 6 I believe.  It's not the crazy teenage girl obsession where there are pictures plastered all over my walls and I shriek when his song comes on while shopping in the mall.  No.  Not at all.  I just think his music is so fun and different.  It's kind of refreshing sometimes.  So here are a couple clips for you to enjoy. His album "Audio Day Dream" is the only entire album I've ever talked myself into downloading off of iTunes.

I love these songs. I think he is great and I really enjoy his stuff. He's one of the few that is better live I think than on the record.
Also, just for the record, Chris and I broke up Monday. Big Shocker. It's been a long time coming and even though we both knew that it was going to happen, neither one of us wanted to do it so we finally started talking about on Monday afternoon and he said things were better when we were just friends so I said ok, let's be just friends then. I'm glad. Part of me still likes him, I'll get over that, but it just wasn't worth it. We disagreed on everything, he's leaving for either a mission or to Afghanistan soon, but more importantly, he just didn't treat me great, which is what made it hard. He was very good in the sense that he would take me out frequently, give me rides if I needed them, buy stuff for me occasionally, but the big things that matter to me are being treated like a daughter of God and showing respect for women and love for everybody around us, because no matter what color, weight, gender or age they may be, they are still children of our Heavenly Father and there is no reason to treat them as anything less, especially based on just a simple physical judgment. Those are the things that really matter to me. So Chris, if by some chance you are reading this, it was fun while it lasted for the most part, but I'm glad we can be just friends again.

Current Conditions

This is one of those posts that is not exciting at all and is more just for the sake of journaling and not so much for blogging. Not much has happened this week. Tuesday night Checko and I went to Boondocks for my RC Willey work party, which was a blast, I'm waiting for my post on that til I get the pictures from her hopefully tomorrow. Meanwhile, it's been a week, so I figured I'd update on my current conditions of life.
Health: Getting better. I was sick with a cold this week but not bad enough to miss work, I just slept a lot when I was off. I have a plethera of cold medicine now so I'm all stocked up and ready for next time something hits.
Jobs: Great. I still love them both so much, really. Everyday that I work (which is 6 days a week) I just feel so grateful to have two great jobs. I never have to work on sundays, I don't have to be there earlier than 9 am or later than 10 pm, they are very social work environments which I have missed so much since cadets and camp. I worked 12 hours straight between the two yesterday and loved every minute of it, even while being sick, that's saying something.
Family: Wonderful. Mom just got back from Egypt on an Op Smile mission and had a great time. She also just ran "Race for the Cure" yesterday and celebrated a great mother's day today. Melanie, Josh and Rylee are all on their way home from a week trip to D.C. to visit Josh's brother, Vicki and Logan are celebrating Logan's pyschology bachelor's graduation in Southern California and they are having a blast. Kristi is doing a big fund raiser with Op Smile and was picked to be the one on all the fliers, she is currently grounded until she leaves for the Dominican Republic in July for her next Op Smile Mission. Troy's family is great, baby Mikey is sooooooooo big. I mean really, big. I love their kids so much and miss their family. Travis is 1 AP test down and 2 to go. He has AP music theory in the morning and I think he'll do great!
Church: Excellent. The last couple of weeks have been so good. I slept through 9 am sacrament due to 12 hours of work yesterday and a good dose of nyquil before bed, but I made it for the rest. We had some great lessons. Relief Society is going well but I think we will be getting released soon because Heidi (2nd counselor) is gone, and Baley (President) is moving home for the summer shortly. Bummer, I really like this calling.
Missions: The boys are doing great I guess, I didn't hear from anybody this week but they all got to call their mothers today so that's exciting. I am still toying with the idea of a mission for me, but I don't know, I feel like there is something else and I have a hunch as to what that is but I'm not saying. And it's not what you think. Travis leaves in a year, that's weird.
Friends: Mostly good. Katie and Jason are home, it was fun to see them the other day. I am still just so happy for them. Ooda is already loving her campers, I'm so proud of her, she is going to be a stellar counselor this year at Oakcrest. I saw Shay the day of Katie's wedding, I needed an emergency bang trim at 7:30 in the morning. I found Alicia (bestie from age 10-13 probably) on facebook. I haven't talked to her in years so that was way exciting. She is expecting a baby and she has grown up so much, I'm excited to be in better contact with her. Ale's in Mexico til her internship starts, Lindsay is all moved out as well as Katie so it is pretty empty there with just me and Froot Loop, but it's kinda nice to have it quite and clean all the time. We are rarely there at the same time. Will is graduated and moved back to Washington, major bummer, but he went slightly crazy this last month anyway, so good riddins I guess? I still love him to death though. Shawn hasn't spoken to me since I quit L I M E which I feel bad about. I feel even worse that he de-friended me on facebook. You would think it's not a big deal, but he was one of my best friends and I feel bad that he is so bitter towards me, but Will and I both saw this coming when I was thinking about working for Shawn, so oh well. You live and you learn I guess, and if he's not big enough to forgive and forget, that's his issue, I refuse to let the way he treats me pull me down anymore though, there's no reason to let it get to me.
Life in General: Wonderful. I have maybe a few complaints dealing with boys but they aren't important right now and everything else in life is so good. I am so blessed and grateful for all I have.

Comfort Food and My Boys

Tonight, I realized what my comfort food is. It's not chocolate, it's not ice cream...it doesn't even have much sugar, if any at all, I've never checked. Cheese. Medium Cheddar Cheese, preferably grated or in cubes, is my comfort food. Life has been getting back into "happy-go-lucky" for me again with work, and I love it. But these last couple days, I have been thinking (que Gaston singing "A dangerous pastime I know!"), but I have. I had a talk with some of the girls at work last night and realized that I needed to change the way I am doing something...but I can't reveal what that change is until it happens. And then today, dear Betsy came over to visit another apartment and stumbled upon me along her way. She vented to me for a bit, and then I filled her in on some stuff, she filled me in on some stuff and this led me to more thinking. And left my heart with a slight twinge. I wouldn't classify it as breaking, because it's not as bad as it could be. Also, I have been thinking so much about my boys lately. I miss them...a lot. I am fortunate and have frequent contact with Spence through e-mail even though he is literally on the other side of the world in Russia. There are few things these days that make me happier than getting my personal e-mails from him. Man I love that guy. I can't wait for him to come home in 11 months and twirl me through the air while giving me the tightest hug he can, as is our tradition. And then there's John, who I haven't heard from in 10 months. He is in Samoa and the mail system over there isn't terribly scheduled, plus I'm sure he's super busy working his absolute hardest, because he always gives everything 150%. But I love that boy too. He has never once put me down in any way, shape or form, we laugh together like no guy I've laughed with before (except spence, but it's usually the three of us.) Then there's McKay. As happy as I am that he is busy and doing well out there in Missouri preaching the gospel, I wish he could find a small window of time to write me, it's been over 4 months since I've heard from my best friend. I am supportive of him though, it would be dumb for me to let him know just how much I miss talking to him. The boy has been gone over 18 months now and I still pull my phone out, get half way through a text to him, and then realize if I push send, he's not going to get it. He comes home soon though, that is good, less than six months. His family is so sweet, I talked to his sister over facebook the other day and their mom got in on it too, I love them to death. Anyways, this was just going to be a short post about my comfort food because as I was thinking about all of this tonight, I went in and grabbed my block of cheese and cut off chunks. I love these boys. They are my best friends and I don't know what I did in order to be so blessed to have them in my life. They know me better than just about anybody. I think Ris and Katie are the only ones that know me better than them outside my family. I miss them and can't wait for their return. But I am so proud of them for serving our Lord and I wouldn't have them trade the experience of their mission for anything. Nothing. It is where they are supposed to be. Keep it real out there boys, I am rooting for you and you are in my prayers.
