Epic Battle #2: Celebrity Run In

I know I posted just a couple hours ago but I'm trying to catch up, so here's epic battle number 2. I had to make a late night run to Walmart the other night, so I was walking through the store just trying to bee line it for the deodorant and shampoo and conditioner. I quickly noticed a weird guy slightly following me. Not ok. So I tried to shake him by weaving in and out of the shopping aisles and then BAM!!! His face was about 6 inches away from mine!! Definitely not ok. He was so excited and just started babbling about how he thought I was Talor Swift so he had to follow me around the store to see if it was for sure. He had been convinced that I was honestly Taylor Swift. I crushed his dreams and told him that I was not Taylor Swift, not at all actually. Poor guy. Last time I checked, there is no way she would be shopping at Walmart in the first place, let alone at almost midnight, at that walmart, all alone. Ya right. Get a clue buddy. Oh well. It was creepy but still pretty funny. I had campers tell me that all summer too, I still just don't quite see it, we both have blonde, curly, frizzy hair. That's about it.

Epic Battles (#1)

This is a new segment I decided to add to my blog. I'm slightly uncoordinated at times and I also manage to get put in some pretty funny situations, battles, if you will. So this is the title that they will be under. This is number 1. I was at work at RC Willey the other day and I had to use the restroom. So I went in and even though it's a nice store so the bathrooms are nice, I still pulled a paper toilet seat cover out of the dispenser. They need to figure out a way to make those things slightly more functional. You almost rip them as you pull them up first, then down, out of the dispenser, then you have to find the three spots where the center part is still attached and pull them apart, and then you have to strategically place it on the toilet seat so that it doesn't get pulled in before you can sit your hiney on it's throne. It is entirely too complicated, especially if you really, really have to get on the toilet, stat. You know what I mean. This was my battle. I fumbled with that dumb piece of paper for about 3 minutes trying to clothing situated and putting that dumb thing on the seat. It was ridiculous. But as I sat on "The Throne" I quietly chuckled to myself, because it was actually really funny. Yes, I am that uncoordinated, I can't even put a disposable toilet seat cover on.

Work, Work, Work

I started my job at RC WIlley on Saturday, hooray!!! I absolutely love it. The people there are so nice and fun. It's a professional work area which I love, I work better with that, but everybody there is very sarcastic and there are a bunch of pranksters, which makes me so happy. They all treat me like they've known me for years, it's great. The first day most stuff went over my head but it is all coming together and I'm just so happy about it. I love having work finally!! I have worked everyday for the last week and a half and it's been great, I'm no longer a bum! :D I have my first day off on Saturday because it's Katie's wedding, so I'll have something fun to keep me busy all day, and then back to work on Monday. Oh, another great thing about the two of my jobs, neither of them are ever open on Sunday, that is very rare in their industries, I'm happy. Papa Murphey's is still going well, I actually really enjoy it there, it's just so chill. It's kinda polar opposite of RC Willey, very very opposite actually, but that's ok, I enjoy them both!
On a side note, tonight was a laser tag night. We have this cool company we do it for that is an outdoor company and they do it at whatever park in Orem or Provo you want, it's way chill. They make it into military scenarios and we had a blast. Chris brought down all of his camoflouge and digi stuff. So we were dressed in Marines clothes and so we were all of over the place having a blast. It was fun to have him there because he helped us run the scenarios in a more legit manner than normal. I had a blast and I think the others did too. It was Me, Chris, Lindsie, Daniel, Will, Mike, and Melanie. Fun Fun. That's all. :D

Girl's Night

Chris and most of his family went to Moab for the weekend.  I was invited to go but I'm starting RC Willey tomorrow and decided to be responsible and not call in for my first day of work, it'll be worth it in the long run.  However, it does mean that I have a weekend to myself to do whatever I want.  I worked at PM's til 8 tonight, but when I got off, I called my friend Betsy who had previously called and left a message.  It turned out she and another girl from my ward, Diana, were going to the Hannah Montana movie.  That was on my list of things to do this weekend because there's no way on the face of the planet Chris would ever go see it with me.  So I wound up going with them, and can I just say, IT WAS A BLAST! (Sidenote:  I am an avid Hannah Montana fan.  As in, not only do I know all of her songs, but I can look at the title of an episode and tell you everything that happens in from Hannah to stuff, to Miley and Lily stuff, to Jackson and Rico's side-stories, etc.  You get the point, it may be nerdy, but I love it.  Now back to the post.)  I practically started hyper-ventilating when the previews were over the music started playing, to the point where the 5-7 year old girls in front of us "shhhh"ed me.  I didn't even care, I was so excited.  Betsy and I frequently squealed through the movie and threw our hands up in the air, it was fabulous.  There was a sweet song that I would consider dancing with my dad to at my wedding, just thinking about it made me choke up a little bit.   And I'll be honest, I got tears at a point or two in the flick.  Yup, it's true.  I teared up in the last two movies I went to...Marley and Me and Hannah Montana.  What can ya do?  That's just me I guess.
Moral of the story, I love Hannah Montana, I love movies, and I love girl's nights, they are incredibly refreshing.

Update

So here's an update on life.  I start at RC Willey on Saturday!!  Hooray!!  I can hardly wait.  I was super excited about this job just at the interview, then when I got the call saying I got it and just when I thought it couldn't get better, they outdid themselves.  I got another phone call earlier this week saying they'd just had another person leave and they were wondering if I wanted that position instead.  So now instead of part-time with no benefits, I am what they call three-quarter time WITH benefits, well some.  But still, it makes me feel so old to have benefits. :D  I don't know what they are just yet, but I'm really hoping that tuition reimbursement will be one of them, that would be off the hook.  Mix that with my scholarships, and I'll be getting paid 2,000 dollars a semester to go to school.  Awesome.  I have been toying with the idea of getting a minor in business lately but I know my scholarship won't get through that many credits so the reimbursement would mean that I could do that, because wheels are starting to turn in my head about post-graduation life.  Weird.
Next.  I found out earlier this week that one of my best childhood friends (up until the 8th grade) is pregnant.  I haven't heard from her in years, since Melanie got married so 3 or 4 years ago.  I felt like I should see if by some chance the facebook bug had bitten her, and sure enough, it had!!  I was so happy to find her and see her page.  As silly as it sounds, I really hope she accepts my friend request, I would love to hear all about how things are going for her these days.  On the topics of best friends, I had another (that I made after the previous one moved and lost contact) that was like my soul sister all throughout jr. high and high school.  We had a bit of rollercoaster ride, not in the sense that we fought, but just that we would make new friends and go our seperate ways for a couple months and then miss each other and things always wound up great.  I loved her to death.  Then, when I moved to school and got my first boyfriend shortly after, she decided she didn't want to be friends anymore.  I still don't understand why or how it all went the way it did, but we didn't talk, ever, for almost a year.  The other night, I was facebook, (life would be a mess without it apparently) and she started chatting with me.  Just small talk at first, but then she just came straight and said, "I miss you, a lot"  I wanted to cry.  I was so happy.  She was one of my best friends and I hated not being able to be there for her because she was pushing me away.  But I knew that I had to let her have her space to figure everything out on her own this time, and that maybe we could be friends again sooner or later, and sure enough, it happened!!  So we talked some, I'm sure we'll still have a couple heart to hearts about the whole situation, but I am just so happy to know that she doesn't have that bitter taste towards me anymore.  I am so excited for our future adventures and hopefully a life full of friendship, because I love her stinkin' guts. :D
Ok, so I always start with the intentions of making my posts short, but I just get typing and I get so excited about it and keep going, oh well, sorry.
Next on the list of updates, Katie's wedding is almost here, hooray!!  Congrats girl, I'm so excited for it!!  (Not in the sense that I want to get you married off, but I am just so stinkin' happy for the two of you!)
She came into our room tonight and started talking about this youtube video so we watched it, we enjoyed it and thought it was precious and kind of just like, "take that world, I'll show you."  So here it is.  Sorry for those of you that read both our blogs, because she posted it as well.
It won't let me embed it, sorry.   Anyways, life right now just keeps managing to get better and better.  There was a brief window of time this last little bit that I was just stuck in one of life's ruts, but I have been blessed in so many ways and reminded of who I am and what I want in life and it is all brightening up now, more than I could have asked for and in ways that I never expected.

When it Rains, It Pours

Usually people use the phrase "when it rains, it pours." for bad things, however this one is good.  So as previously posted, I needed work.  Also as posted, I got a small job working about 7 hours a week reffing soccer.  But, I kept looking for another job, because that just wasn't going to pay any bills.  I recieved a phone call around 9:30 Monday morning saying I got the job at R.C. Willey to be a door greeter and cashier.  I am so excited.  I went in there that day and signed all my paper work, did my drug test, etc.  Then later that day I talked with my cousin's boss at Papa Murphey's where they had just had a whole bunch of people.  He hired me on the spot and was ready to put me to work that night, but I had to wait til Tuesday because I was busy.  So I got two jobs in one day, in just a matter of hours.  And they both work with each others schedules and pay decently.  I don't start at RCW til the 18th but I started at PM's on Tuesday and really enjoyed it.  It's not the highest quality of job, but the people there are great.  It's similar to cadets, just a bunch of fun-lovin' kids.  They are all so nice to me.  They make sure I don't feel like I'm in the way, they help me learn, etc.  Everything opposite from L I M E.  I felt like I could never do anything right there, by the end I just wasn't happy with anything related to that company.  It is making me really appreciate my new jobs and all the nice people and good work environments.   I am way excited to start RCW and see how it goes!  Life is great with everything else.  Easter was amazingly great, things with Chris and I are good, one of my best friends just got her first boyfriend, and it is fabulously sunny out, I'll be done with school until September in about 48 hours, so what more could I want?  Nothing.  It has rained great things on me lately.

This One's For The Kids

So my life as of late, has been slightly uneventful. I had a couple good job interviews this week and I should find out in the next couple days about them, but meanwhile, I'm up to the same ol' same ol' that I've been doing all semester. I go to class on Tuesday and Thursday for two hours, FHE, church, and then hang out with Chris when he's not in school or at work. The rest of the time, I sleep, watch tv, clean, read/study and Facebook. Yup, that's about it. I'm going crazy. I was talking with one of my friends in the ward about it the other night and he said "good grief Madison, how do you handle that? It sounds so boring!!" To which I replied that it is. I told him that it has made me wonder if I really want to be a stay at home mom. Now I wasn't being dead serious about this, but slightly. He got kind of defensive about it and tried to convince me otherwise even though I still had the intentions of being a stay at home mom. He didn't really say anything to help his argument. There are only certain people that could. Kids.
I spent the day at home today babysitting Rylee Jo with my mom all day. Ok, but really, she is the cutest little girl alive, I'm sorry to everyone else, but it's true. I have never met a two-year girl with so much personality and such a cute laugh. I stayed at home and spent the day helping her use the big-girl toilet, cleaning her pee off the floor, later changing diapers, washing her clothes, feeding her, playing patty-cake and taking naps. I loved it. We had so much fun and at the end of the day when she gave me a goodnight hug and kiss and said "night Matz" I thought to myself, "yup, stay at home mom, for sure." I'm looking forward to it. (But I am most definitely in no rush.)
