Thanksgiving: Part 6

Day 6:

Education

I am grateful that I was able to go to school my whole life. I was one of those silly kids that loved going back to school all the time.
I am especially grateful that I was able to attend Brigham Young University. I didn't always love everything about being there, but I got a great education that I'll always use and be thankful for.

Thanksgiving: Part 4

Day 4

Friends:

I have the GREATEST friends in the whole wide world!!! I learn so much from them and love and appreciate all they do for me. So many of them have been my great friends for years and years and I pray that that will always stay the same. I am kind of shy when I first meet people, but these are people that I have gotten along with since day one and I couldn't be more thankful for them, even if they are no longer a part of my everyday life, they are people I will always be grateful for and will always consider a great friend.

I don't want to list names because I'm scared I would forget someone, but let's be honest, you all know who you are. There are some that were roommates, (I have had nearly twenty roommates but only a handful of them made the list.) friends I made in high school, friends I made in the 7th grade, **cough cough...Shay**, the ones I grew up with since day 28, the ones I met at work, the ones from my ward, the ones from Oakcrest.

I am so thankful for them all!!!

Thanksgiving: Part 2

Day 2:

My Heavenly Father.

I am so grateful for the relationship I have with my Heavenly Father. There is nothing more important to me than knowing that I have a Father in Heaven that knows me perfectly and loves me no matter what. He has given me so much in my life and for which I am also grateful.

I owe everything I have in my life to Him and I know that He loves me more than anybody else and that He also loves all of His children just as much.

Thanksgiving: Part 1

Lots of people have been posting on facebook every day this month about things they are thankful for. I think it's a great idea, but I like details, so throughout this week, I am going to list 7 things that I am most grateful for. (Ok, it's really going to be 8 because it's a tie between two of them.) They aren't necessarily in any specific order, but I'm sure it will be easy to tell that these are all the things that keep my world turning.

Day 1:

My Savior Jesus Christ.

Read the following like a poem, not like the song.

I stand all amazed at the love Jesus offers me,
Confused at the grace that so fully he proffers me.
I tremble to know that for me He was crucified,
That for me a sinner, he suffered, he bled and died.

I marvel that He would descend from his throne divine
To rescue a soul so rebellious and proud as mine.
That He should extend His great love unto such as I,
Sufficient to own, to redeem, and to justify.

I think of his hands pierced and bleeding to pay the debt!
Such mercy, such love and devotion can I forget?
No, no, I will praise and adore at the mercy seat,
Until at the glorified throne I kneel at his feet.

Oh, it is wonderful that He should care for me
Enough to die for me!
Oh it is wonderful, wonderful to me!

(See LDS Hymns #193)

The words of this song say it perfectly. I stand all amazed that my Savior would suffer, bleed, and die for me, and for every man and woman that walks this earth. To know that I can be forgiven is a blessing that I've yet to find words to describe. I am also grateful to Him for suffering through the pains of this world so that when I feel pain, whether it is physical, emotional, spiritual, etc., I know that He has felt it too and will be by my side as I bear through it.

I have faith that there will be a day when I will see Him again and feel the nail prints in His hands and feet and tell him "thank you" in person. As for now, all I can do is pray to be worthy of such an experience and show my gratitude through the way I act and treat others.

Rocking It

We have been engaged two and a half weeks and this is the progress update for the wedding plans.

Booked the Draper temple for 10am on April 7th
Booked the reception center
Bought my wedding dress
Picked the photographer and arranged possible videography options
Registered at Bed, Bath and Beyond
Arranged housing for when we move to Idaho
Got his ring and my band
Planned who is taking our engagements and where

And a lot of other little details that I don't want to take the time to think of and write down. :)

I feel like we are off too a pretty good start! We are trying to get as much done as possible before Brock moves to idaho so that when we visit each other we don't have to work on wedding stuff, but we are having fun with it so far!

Disclaimer

I just went on to my blog while at work to edit a word I noticed I had spelled wrong and it reformatted my last post. Please don't panic, I'll fix it just as soon as I get home tonight. Thank you for putting up with how annoyingly uneven it looks right now. :D
