Movie Review

I'm not going to lie, one of the downsides to working at camp last summer was missing out on all the summer cinema, I missed a lot of excellent movies in the theater. Oh well, it was more than worth it, let's be honest. However, this summer, I plan on seeing every movie that I want to. I started this week with two, The Proposal and Transformers.

The Proposal:

Fairly classic chick flick. Not my favorite of Sandra B., but still really funny and enjoyable. I saw it at the drive-in last night which was a first for me, but I really enjoyed it, the weather was perfect and I just had a blast. But back to the movie. I would say dollar theater or redbox it, or drive-in, but I wouldn't pay 8.50 for it. It was funny though, really.

Transformers:

AMAZING!! Best action movie since Ironman in my opinion. I wouldn't rank the awesomeness quite as high as Ironman, but pretty dang close. I don't remember much from the first Transformers, but I was completely enthralled with this one. It is a loooooon movie, but I didn't even realize til I walked out of the theater how long I had been sitting. The story is predictable, but the movie is still fabulous. I sat there thinking how it was kind of pathetic that my heart broke a little bit when Opitmus Prime got stabbed through the heart (since robots have hearts?) and fell dead to the earth. But for some reason it made me sad. The action in the movie was great, lots of planes, lots of bombs, people jumping out of airplanes, evil gone good, it was great. There were a few parts that were slightly inappropriate and not necessary, like the guy ripping his pants off just to his underwear, but oh well. The leading actress did pretty good. The majority of her lines were "SAAAAAAAAAAAM!!!" in her best damsal in distress manner, but she looked great doing it which is what they pay her for. There was a lot of great leadership and heroism in the movie though that just kind of pumped me up and made me want to go change the world. Because of cars that turn into robots. Who knew? Oh, also...Lennox...gorgeous, just an FYI.

Welp...It's All Over For the Next Year

This evening marks the end of my last weekend before I start in for the long haul down the home stretch. Tuesday at 4:00 I start classes. It is very bittersweet at this moment. I am going to have homework again, that is kind of a shame, but I love learning and I feel like I really want to committ to school for this last stretch. For summer semester I have two classes, Consumer Health and Writing About Arts and Humanities. I think they should both be alright, I'm kinda bummed about having to take another english class, I thought I was done, but oh well. I'll keep working 50 hours a week unless it absolutely kills me, but I should be fine. And a year and two months from now, I will be all done. Graduated. Finished with my bachelors and moved on with life. Weird. But nice. In honor of my last weekend I did...well, just the norm, not much. Friday night Dustin and Ryan and I went to Coldstone, Saturday I worked and then made banana bread with Lexie C. and Lexi K. and we played nertz, it was fun. Then today I taught Sunday school, took a 5 hour nap (sounds long, but believe me, I needed it.) and then made myself a nice big, healthy dinner and then Lexi and Lexie came over and we made cookies and played more games with Ryan and their other roomie Maddie. Hopefully once I get in school I can hang onto my social life...we'll see. :D

Fun Things I Did This Week

Sunday Night: Went to my home ward for the first time in AGES. And then I played with the fam all night. We had a big family dinner, played croquet, and just talked and lauged together. This is quite possibly my favorite way to pass my time.

Monday: FHE. We went out to Brother Wright's house in Alpine and they made us a delicious meal. Most people watched a movie after, but we split because we had to work in the morning.

Tuesday: Dinner with McKay's family!!! Oh my goodness, sooooooooo fun. They too made an excellent dinner for us (Me, Jaci, and Krisina). Then we played MadGab, one of my favorite games, and then we played Nertz which is such a McKay game, really a Davies game. We had so much fun, but my favorite part was just being with them again. I haven't seen his family since Spencer's farewell over a year ago and I haven't been to their place since McKay's farewell 20 months ago. :S It made me so excited for him to come home, he'll either come home on October 8 (which would be just shy of two years) or he'll extend til December. As great as it would be for him to extend, I secretly wish he would come home in October, I miss him so much. I've done pretty good up til now, but I just miss him more and more each day, it's kind of pathetic. But dinner with his family was great, I love them. And they invited us to go boating next month! Woo-hoo!!

Wednesday: Instititue. Love it. I made a new friend. I love new friends. :D Oh, and I got to hear from Spencer which always just brings the world's biggest smile to my face, I miss that boy too.

Thursday: Day off from work. Alexis, a girl I work at Papa Murphey's with, and I went up to her condo at Snowbird for the day. It was a blast. We went on a small hike and then it started to rain so we just chilled in the condo and watched movies all day, it was so nice and relaxing.

Also on Thursday night, Shay came over to watch a TV Series, but seeing as how we haven't spoken for the last year and half, we just talked for hours and hours and got caught up on lots of stuff. It was so good to be with her. I've missed her and I'm glad she has decided to be friends again because we have a great friendship. :D Love ya girl!

Friday and Saturday: I just worked all day both days, I filled my "playing" cup through the week so I am ok with working all weekend.

That's all, this is a long post but it was a great week. It was super busy and it was all with doing things that I love!! Life doesn't get much better!

Off We Go...Into the Wild Blue Yonder!!

Hello United States Air Force. Most people probably don't know that one of my grandfathers was an airforce pilot. He was in the air fore for over 20 years if I remember correctly, but he flew in WWII and Korea. He was the real deal. He passed away one month before I turned eight, so it was a while ago. But he is a legend in my heart. He had a love for airplanes and this got passed down through the generations. My dad loves planes and was a pilot himself, and me and many of my siblings love planes and the Air Force and America because of my grandpa. :D My dad and I have a tradition of going up to the airshows at Hill Air Force Base and anyone else who wants to come is more than welcome to join. This last weekend, it was that time of year. We had a good time, we saw fighter jets, cargo planes, stunt planes, everything. I loved it. It was a beautiful day. I wasn't hot, but I was warm and got some sunshine on my skin. I didn't get to see the Thunderbirds, which I love, but I did get to see my favorite stunt pilot twice in one day AND I got to meet him!! His name is Sean D. Tucker, he's amazing. He has accomplished so much including becoming a member of the Aerospace hall of fame. Check him out. Anyways, it was a blast to watch all the different planes and to be with part of my family.

Shout Out to Little Brother!

So it has been well over a week since I've posted and soooooooooo much has been going on, it's been crazy busy and I love it! I decided to break it into smaller posts that are slightly more manageable. This first one is for the brother and the start of my weekend. He graduated from High school on Friday. I am so proud of him. He made it through and enjoyed it for the most part. Congrats bud, I love you!!
