Right Now

Today I was greeting at work and had an incredibly awkward moment.

I was in the middle of sending a text to my sister telling her that she is missing out by living in St. George because we are having the most beautiful rain right now. Well, as I was typing those words on my phone, a pleasant older man walked in. I looked up at him and greeted him by saying "How are you doing right now?"

As soon as the words came out of my mouth I tried so hard to pull them back in. He smiled and said good, trying to make me not feel silly, but I did. Not a "Welcome to RC Willey" or "How are you doing today?" But "How are you doing right now?"

Who does that?

I completely just said "Good day" to an appellant instead of "Have a good day". Who am I, a British butler from 1830?

I'm just proud of you for greeting the customers instead of just using your laptop up there to do your homework! lol
