Childhood Friends

It is late and I'm getting up early in the morning, but I have been looking for the perfect opportunity to blog about this all week, but let's be honest, blogging isn't always convenient, hahaha! Along with Marissa, Sunday was also Travis' farewell. My cute cute cute little brother did so great on his farewell talk...but I will post about that one next hopefully. This post is about the fact that on Sunday, I saw my dear dear friends that I grew up my entire life with.
Rebecca Packard (AKA: Becky). We were born 28 days apart and spent our entire lives living 3 blocks away from each other, straight shot down the road. Until college. We had ups and downs as every friendship does when you're kids, but we are the kind of friends that can go years without seeing each other, and then just sit and talk like it was yesterday. Point and case: Sunday night.

Sunday I was pleasantly surprised to see Becky at our home ward. She moved to Logan after graduation and I moved to Provo. Life gets busy with work and school and boys and we just didn't have lots of times to talk. It's not that we didn't want to, we just didn't. She got married after our first year at college, and guess what...it's been 2 years since she got married, and I have YET to meet the man that married my best friend. It's ok, I'm sure he is great and it seems like he is taking good care of Becky, so I approve. The whole family was over after church so after they all left in the evening I was able to meet up with Becky and we just talked for hours and hours like old times. We went on a walk and then sat on the lawn and talked and talked. It was great. Oh I miss her and our talks. It's also nice now that we have grown up, it was a good conversation and so neat to see how much we've grown in the last two years but also to see how much we have stayed the same. I loved it. After a couple hours, our friend Heidi came walking down the road to complete the night. She was born 11 days before me and also lived right down the road, just 1 block from Becky. She stopped and talked with us for a few minutes. It was a blast. I love those girls so much and I am so happy that I finally had a chance to visit with them and to hear that their lives are going so well. It's so funny to think of memories from pre-school together, to young women's camp, to high school, and now real life, so much fun!!
