For those in the blogosphere that don't really know me that well, I would like to confess that I LOVE snowboarding. It took me a few years to really get the hang of it, but last year I got fairly confident with it, and this year, is looking to be great.
I went up with Brandon and some friends from work on Thursday and we had a great time. We went up to the Canyons which is my home stomping ground for boarding. I love it there. We were all over the mountain just riding it out.
I got to ride my new board which was glorious. It handled so well and was just perfect. I had a few little problems with my bindings but nothing that can't be fixed. It was my best day of snowboarding to date. I carved all day long, there was a little fresh powder and clear blue skies above the city's January muck. I only had one semi-big fall and it wasn't even that bad, and it only happened because I was trying a new trick. It was such a great day and so nice to get back up in the mountains, they are just magnificent to me in every sense of the word.
So, the moral of the story is, that even though snowboarding is an expensive hobby, and can be incredibly exhausting and makes you super sore for days no matter how good you are, I love it. Love it love it love it. It is right up there with my love for soccer, and could possibly beat my love for soccer at one point. Maybe not, but it's close.
